How is it almost February?!!!! I have read 7 books this month and am currenttly on my 8th and 9th halfway through both (Scythe and The Wicked Deep) So far this month I have read The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Wicked and The Divine, Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, Almost Midnight, Let it Snow, The Cruel Prince and The One Memory of Flora Banks.
My ratings for these books either ended up being a 4 / 5star or on the other side of the scale (1-2stars).
The One Memory of Flora Banks
I gave a two or three star rating to The One Memory of Flora Banks, The Wicked and The Divine and Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine.
I found the hype for Eleanor Oliphant left me expecting too much and I struggled to get into the story. I loved the characters, I liked the book but just didn’t love it.
The one memory of Flora Banks was a definite 2 star for me I found myself wanting the book to end and I did like the ending but it just wasn’t for me.
The wicked + The Divine
The wicked and the divine just needed more back story in my opinion.
Favourites (Spoiler Free)
The Tattooist of Auschwitz
On to my favourite books this month!!! The Tattooist of Auschwitz… This book which is based on the true story of two individuals one being the Tattooist of Auschwitz ( Lale )and a lady (Gita ) who he meets at his time during the horrific camp. They both lived through the horror of Auschwitz and found love from all the terror and finally felt like it was the right time to tell their story. The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a life changer and you need to read it, it will leave you in emotional turmoil, it will send shivers down your spine and it will stay with you long after you finish the last page. The Tattooist of Auschwitz is such an important book that everyone needs to read.
The Cruel Prince
The Cruel Prince… Now one of my favourite YA books. I am so excited to read The Wicked King which is sitting on my very large tbr pile!! I imagine a lot of people in the YA book fandom would have read The Cruel Prince and I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback. It follows the story of three sisters and their life in the land of faerie. Taryn and Jude are twins and the story focuses a lot around them and a very cruel prince Cardan. You will probably end up hating every character at some point in this book and then end up liking them and then hating them again! Good luck if you’re reading this! The ending is brilliant though and leaves you eagerly ready to read The Wicked King!!
Let it snow and Almost Midnight
Let it snow and Almost Midnight were my end of Christmas /New Year reads they were cute and easy to read. I highly reccomend for the Christmas period and New Year!
